IRIS is pleased to announce that Dr. Nazha Gali, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Leadership at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), will join the IRIS team as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. The year-long fellowship, supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, gives participants the chance to develop novel approaches to research using the IRIS UMETRICS dataset.

Dr. Gali’s research interests include the nature and longitudinal impact of entrepreneurial orientation and its dimensions on the failure rate of firms; corporate social responsibility; corporate governance; team leadership emergence; and social entrepreneurship.

Dr. Gali is an expert in mixed research methods (quantitative and qualitative), econometric analysis,  and large-scale dataset analysis. She has published in peer-reviewed academic journals and presented at several international conferences.

She received her Masters degree in Business Administration with honors from the Lebanese American University, and completed her PhD in Business Management with a focus on Entrepreneurship at Durham University Business School in the UK.

In addition to her research orientation, Dr. Gali has received recognition for her teaching and mentoring skills. At Durham University, she served as a representative for PhD students, and at UDC she is an academic mentor for undergraduate student research. She is currently an associate member of the Academy of Management and a peer-reviewer for the International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, and the Journal of Corporate Governance, Journal of Business Ethics, and the International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management.
