IRIS researchers Matthew VanEseltine, Jinsoek Kim and Jason Owen-Smith will participate in the International Conference on the Science of Science and Innovation conference June 26-29 at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

VanEseltine will present during a session on COVID. His work is titled “Examining the Content of Scientific Research and Heterogeneity of COVID-19 Impacts.”

Owen-Smith will moderate a panel on “Culture and Management of Scientific Labs” and will also co-present “Stepping out of flatland: Complex networks, topological data analysis and the progress of science.”

Kim is a co-author on a poster being shown titled “Are claims of gender bias in scholarly research metrics influenced by inaccurate author name disambiguation and gender prediction?”
