The importance of creating good quality jobs has been highlighted in much recent legislation, including the Chips and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the InfrastructureInvestment and Jobs Act, as well as the renewal of existing legislation such as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
It’s also an important part of the Industries of Ideas project, a recently funded NSF pilot including IRIS, The Ohio State University, and the Social Science Research Council.
An upcoming webinar hosted at the University of Maryland’s Social Data Science Center and moderated by IRIS co-founder Julia Lane will provide a set of lightning talks from experts from universities, think tanks and states that review current approaches, identify lessons learned, and sketches a possible future agenda.
