On January 1, we marked 10 years since our founding in 2015. As we enter our second decade as an organization, IRIS is working to improve and expand our organizational capacity, welcome new university members to our consortium, and strengthen our network of research collaborations. We look forward to sharing our work with you.

  • Highlights from 2024:
IRIS’s consortium welcomed three new member universities in Texas, allowing us to build and deliver more comprehensive regional insights.
  • The sixth UMETRICS dataset, our most comprehensive to date, was released with data spanning over $192 billion in sponsored research funding across more than 100 campuses. The dataset is currently accessed by dozens of researchers throughout the country in a variety of fields.

    • Developing new ways to measure the impact of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and electric vehicles on jobs, employers, and the economy
    • Examining the dynamics of discovery and innovation
    • Generating insights on the relationships between STEM education, training, and opportunity
